Kokoko!

Kokoko! brengt alternatieve muziek uit de ghetto's van Kinshasa, een rijke mix van verschillende werelden: traditionele muziek en « electro-acoustische » rythmes.
 
Door stroomstoringen die worden opgelegd door de overheid, bouwen ze hun instrumenten zelf met hetgeen ze vinden in de straten van de gettowijk Ngwaka. In samenwerking met de befaamde producer Débruit uiten ze hun passie, woede en creativiteit door improvisatie met psychedelische sounds en house / punk funk beats. Ze worden vergezeld door de prachtige stem van zangeres Lady Aisha en jonge MC Makara Bianko.

Lawrence Le Doux

For nearly two decades now, as a member of groups such as Electrosold Collectif (alongside Mouse on Mars’ Jan St Werner) and working solo under a wide range of pseudonyms such as Sun OK Pap K.O. and Baleine 3000, Belgium’s Laurent Baudoux has been a pivotal figure in his country’s underground Electronic music scene. Currently working under the name Lawrence Le Doux, he is releasing is first LP ‘Music For Documentaries’ via John Talabot​ imprint, Hivern Discs The record is the soundtrack of a documentary about the philosopher Donna Harawa Read about it here > https://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=38948 He creates eclectic, dreamlike textures underpinned by pulsating sun-soaked rhythms. His music is even more pronounced live, where his electronics are bolstered by live guitar and bass to dazzling effect.
