Samuel was born in Turin on March 7, 1972. He started singing and playing instruments when he was in primary school, and he’s been very active as a composer since then.
His music production includes fourteen studio albums with 2 different bands – Subsonica and Motel Connection – and 2 soundtracks for Marco Penti’s movies “Santa Maradona” and “A+R Andata e Ritorno”.
In the late 1980s Samuel decided to mix together his natural talent for writing songs with a strong passion for electro music: that’s how Subsonica came to life.
It was in these years of great turmoil in the Italian music scene that Samuel and his band mates embarked on a research journey through electro music and culture, which ended up with him starting a new music project called Motel Connection. With this band Samule made six studio albums and two movie soundtracks.
During his music career Samuel had the chance to collaborate with great artists such as Franco Battiato, Antonella Ruggiero, Patty Pravo and Manuel Agnelli.
In 2014 he aimed to write his first solo album. “Il codice della bellezza” was released on the 24th of February 2017, right after Samuel’s participation in the Festival di Sanremo with the song “Vedrai”. Samuel’s new album features his collaboration with Lorenzo Jovanotti, who helped co-writing a few songs and singing the tune “Voleva un’anima”.
“Il codice della bellezza” ranks second in FIMI best-selling chart right after being released and it goes straight to the top of airplay chart in Italy.
The first single of the album,“La risposta”, is released on the 10th of September 2016 and it ranks first on the airplay list in Italy right away. “Rabbia” is the second single from the almbum and is currently broadcasted on the top radio stations in Italy.
“Il codice della bellezza” tour starts in Turin with 2 sold out concerts on the 11th and 12th of May 2017. Following dates are Milan (Alcatraz – 18th of May) and Rome (Postepay Sound Rock in Rome – 27th of June).
In October 2017 Samuel will be touring Europe with TiJ Events, BPM Concerti and Fonti Sonore.
