Renegade Soundwave (aka RSW) was a London based electronic music group formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1995. During their nine year career they released four long playing albums and twelve singles.They were equally well known for their skill as producers and re-mixers of songs by others as they were for their own music. The two core members were Danny Briottet and Gary Asquith, both former members of Mass. Karl Bonnie was a founding member but quit in 1990 after the release of their debut album. Asquith had also previously served with early 4AD signing, Rema-Rema.

Radical Dance Faction (RDF) were founded by Chris Bowsher in Hungerford, UK, 1986, and were originally known as Military Surplus. The band experienced many line up changes, and Chris remained the only original member up to the time RDF split up (sometime in the late 1990’s). RDF’s music combined punk, dub, and ska, while Chris’ lyrics, spoken rather than song, dealt mainly with political issues, such as the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989 in the song Chinese Poem. Chris also witnessed first hand the Hungerford massacre, describing his experience in Hot on the Wire.

Horace Andy is a legendary roots reggae singer, notable for such tracks as PlayGovernment Land, PlayYou Are My Angel and PlaySkylarking.Born Horace Hinds on 19 February 1951 in Kingston, Jamaica, he made his earliest recordings in the late 1960s. Known for his distinctive falsetto vocal style, he sung on many classic production for reggae producers, including Phil Pratt, King Tubby and Prince Jammy. He is a devout Rastafari and, like many reggae singers, much of his material deals with themes of religion and social justice.

HOLLIE COOK (dochter van Paul Cook) begon als actrice, model en zangeres, maar kwam er al snel achter dat muziek haar grote passie was. De zangeres van de punkrockband The Slits vroeg haar of ze de backingvocals op hun nieuwe album wilde verzorgen. Ze werd ook de tweede stem bij de opnames van hun tweede album, waarop Hollie naast zang ook keyboard speelde. Ook kwam haar eigen nummer 'Cry' op dit album terecht. Meer samenwerking volgde.
